Replacing the Throttle Linkage

I hacked the old linkage to work with the new carb by drilling a hole in the pivot and putting a cotter pin in, but it was not primo:

For one thing, because the pivot was lower on the arm, the acceleration responded faster than it should, and the pedal would not hit the floor all of the way. The threads on the rod are not standard fine (28). I'm really not sure what it is.

Here is how the original rear linkage hooked up:

I found a bushing that would fit in the proper hole on the carb. It is a Mr. Gasket # 6026. I also picked up some yokes and pins from a hardware store:

Here is how the front linkage assembly went together with the bushing, yoke, and clevis pin:

I put in two hitch pins in opposite directions. Here is how the rear linkage looks:
