Rear Brake Cylinder Leakage

There was brake fluid dripping on the inside of the rear tire. I pulled off the brake drum, and could see the brake fluid coming out of the right boot of the wheel cylinder:

Here is the old cylinder cleaned up a bit. There is a tool, shown in the picture, that has a hook on the end to remove the springs from the brake shoes:

The springs are removed, and the wheel cylinder can be pulled out. Notice that one of the springs doesn't go all of the way up to the center bolt on the top. There is an extension that the spring hooks on to:

Here is the old, nasty wheel cylinder.

My son and I were able to walk down the hill four blocks and pick up a new WC13387 wheel cylinder:
