Bed Repair

I'm worried about having the sides of the truck fall off like what happened with George and my old International Pickup. I need to strengthen the bed without plunking down tons of money.

I'm a big fan of Picklex 20. It allows me to preserve the frame by pressure washing it, letting it dry, painting it with Picklex 20, and then paint it with some Eastwood Co. Chassis Black paint. Here is the frame after pressure washing and drying:

The funnest shortcut I'm going to take is using 3/4" CDX plywood for the floor of the bed. I have some nice kitchen and bath latex paint I used for the road side of the board:

The truck will not get rained on, as it is under a carport, and I certainly won't be hauling compost in Isabelle in the rain. Even at that, with some varnish on the top and latex on the bottom of the board, it will last long enough.
