 There was noise coming from the front wheels that sounded like brakes rubbing. Since the rear brakes had brake fluid on them from the leaky wheel cylinder, I decided to change out the brake shoes all around and bearings on the front. I need to protect some of the front-end metal as well. Here is the front brake drum:
The dust cap was actully rubbing against the spindle nut because it was indented. When I took out the outer wheel bearing I had a strange feeling that I'd seen it before. Sure enough, it is a Timken lm11949, the same as in my old 63 Rambler American:

The noise could very well be related to the fact that the there was a rogue spring hanging down not attached to anything:
